I am not sanguine that this will be noticed here, but some of you may only find out this way that I am no longer on Facebook. At least, I hope I'm not--since I deactivated it, I can't "look" and see about it! |

Say, I'm curious: why did you deactivate your Facebook account? I resisted FB for a long time, but now I find it to be a useful way to keep up with friends and colleagues.
ReplyDeleteProbably just because I'm crazy. Sometimes I am like a dog and just dislike someone as soon as I sniff them--i feel that way about many of thee programs.
ReplyDeleteSome of my real friends were not going to mess with it, either, so that had a slight influence over my decision. Other friends reminded me how anti-social I am under the best of circumstances.
More than anything, though, I like to wash my hands of things and say FUCK IT!
Did I say that out loud? Of course I did.
ReplyDeleteYou feel much the same as I did. it's very easy to nip back in and read something that might otherwise be unavailable. I did that and de-activated again straight away. Sneak peeks, no belonging!
ReplyDeleteI'm hanging on to Twitter, but keep asking myself why. Probably it'll go the way of all flesh in another week or so. ;-)
I'm sort of glad to know there are some sane people who share my discomfort. I understand some of the attraction to it, but it's too invasive. And I'm too contrary (on all matters)!
ReplyDeleteI never joined, it just sounded annoying and the last thing I need is people from the 5th grade finding me.
ReplyDeleteAcute reasoning. A cute reasoning? That's you all over, doll!
ReplyDeleteYes, one needs to remember all of one's layers of life--in some of those layers were people you had trouble getting rid of the first time around! How much worse might it be now!!!
