If you got around to reading "The Magic Mountain" -- Mann didn't seem to find it too, too difficult to write ultravolumes. Yes, it's one of the best mega-mega-ass-novels I can actually claim to have read; but it did seem like he might have been a bit more concise.

What about you? Writing is not difficult for you either.
I've often wondered why that is. I think it's harder because people who only know the basics of English expect more of those they read. Strange they even know the difference.
ReplyDeleteI assume that Mann meant something about those who write recipes or diaries and those who write literature. I find it very easy to write my blog, but my poetry and stories are often something beating the hell out of me and require much revision. But that's just an opinion and every donkey has one.
