Mary Hopkins

  1. It's hard to believe that anybody else on the planet remembers this song. Not that it was a big fave of mine, and it was popular when I was about 12 or 13. But there's a certain sentimental quality to it. It has more meaning to me now that I'm 53, have lived a life largely of others' choosing and have lost a lot of "fights."

  2. Yes, I pretty much share your view on the song. I was a little older when it came out, but I find it wasn't significant to me until now when I've had plenty of life that I've either enjoyed or fucked up. Back when the song was hot, those were "my" days and I was too busy to get sentimental--not so, these days!
