Writing Poems

A lady came up and asked me,
“How do you decide on topics for a poem?”
They don’t spring full-grown, I replied.
The topics seem to choose themselves in the end.
A few words or sentences will occur to me
And after that it either grows organically or
Is built upon like a skyscraper where the architect
Comes in almost every day and changes the plans again.
