Poetry Can Be Used

Poetry can be used
To look at the small moments
Or the big picture,
Whichever you like, whichever applies.

One minute I’m up to my eyeballs
In the concrete details they say construct reality
And the next I can’t keep again above the mist of abstraction
That always floats like less than feathers in my mind.

    Hmmm - I'd not thought of poetry in that way before, but yes, now I come to think about it, that's what poetry does - it either provides a magnifying glass or a pair on binoculars the wrong way round.

    Yours is good either way. :-)
